2009 Salary Survey - Please Take Part
The Society's annual Salary Survey provides an authoritative guide to levels of and trends in remuneration among business economists. Please take a few minutes to complete the 2009 questionnaire and return it in the enclosed prepaid envelope as soon as possible. The survey is completely confidential. A detailed analysis will be published in The Business Economist.

Membership News
Please welcome the following new Members to the Society: Kerry Craig, Pension Protection Fund, Thorsten Fischer, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ayodele Abiola, University of St Andrews (student member).

Recruit A New Member In 2009
Make it your New Year's resolution to introduce a colleague to the Society in 2009! The SBE's thriving and diverse membership network is one of its key assets, and our new year 'wraparound' offer means that members joining now will benefit from a first annual subscription which runs all the way through to June 2010 (i.e. up to 18 months for the price of 12). Furthermore, and as a 'thank you' from the Society to those making the introductions, any member introducing at least 5 new full members during the year will be entitled to a free place at dinner with the speaker of their choice following an evening meeting.
A membership leaflet, application form and copy of the meetings programme are enclosed; further packs are available from the Secretariat or can be downloaded from the SBE website.

Evening Meetings: Why Not Continue The Discussion Over Dinner?
Evening speaker meetings are, as many members will know, followed not only by drinks and the chance to catch up with colleagues and make new acquaintances, but also in most cases by the opportunity to continue the discussion over dinner at a central London venue. If you would you like to dine with Irwin Stelzer, please contact the Secretariat. The cost of the dinner to members is only £45 - or, as described above, free to anyone introducing five new members to the Society over the course of a year.
